Lead by long-time community leaders Mary Rose and Earl Wilcox, the Grant Park Barrio Youth Project provides at-risk youth with positive experiences that encourage good citizenship. The project provides education, cultural and sports activities at Grant Park, an historic neighborhood meeting spot for the South Phoenix community.
The Grant Park Barrio Youth Project provides services to nearly 10,000 people each year. Our mission is to provide resource to create a united community with local services like:
Community forums
Educational conferences
Community enrichment events
Receptions, funerals & church services
We offer recreational programs and after-school activities designed to engage our young people with positive alternatives. Our famous Midnight Basketball Classic is just on of the many programs we organize that encourage our youth to stay in school, resist drugs and crime while promoting total wellness in themselves and their families.
